- Sometimes the order in which you do things makes all the difference.
- That could prove to be the case with President-elect Donald Trump’s economic policies. In his first term, sweeping tax cuts preceded the imposition of selective tariffs. That meant the economy already had solid momentum when the negative impact from trade disruptions hit.
- This time around, the order is likely to be reversed. The tariffs could also be much wider while the amount of new tax relief is smaller. That seems like a recipe for an economic downturn.
- It would seem prudent to assume that there will be much more in broad-based tariffs than last time around and that they will be imposed far more quickly. That could mean an abrupt, negative shock to the economy, perhaps an order of magnitude greater than the total disruptions imposed by his tariffs in 2018 and 2019.

- HyunDai Automobile donated $1M for Trump’s Inauguration which is the first time ever while they announced $1.3B investment to U.S. when Trump became the U.S. president first time in 2017.
- Also GM, Toyota donated $1M for Trump’s Inauguration respectively.
- HyunDai executive will try to arrange a meeting with Trump after the inauguration.

- It was reported more than 40,000 undocumented immigrants in GA were pardoned under the Biden ministration and extended their temporary stay period for next 18 months.
- There are 357,895 undocumented immigrants in Florida, 124,710 in Texas, 86,665 in New York, 72,585 in California, and Georgia follows them as 5th state.

- President Trump pardoned on Monday nearly all of the 1,500 people charged in connection with the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, hours after outgoing President Biden immunized from prosecution family members and other potential targets of the incoming administration.
- Four years ago, they marched on the city as a mob. In the ensuing months, many were taken down in FBI raids. On Saturday evening, a few dozen of them were gathered in a place far removed from the fancy inaugural balls but which had become hallowed ground: the sidewalk outside the Central Detention Facility, a prison in the southeast corner of the city where dozens of J6ers are being held. It was the 901st night of a regular vigil, but this time charged with excitement that Trump was returning to the White House and might offer deliverance in the form of pardons— a hope that was fulfilled.
